Invading Tulum | Tiffany & Ly

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Hello everyone,

Tiffany and Ly’s trash the dress session took place at Tulum (Cancun, Mexico)! We found out that we needed permits to photograph in the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, of which we did not prepare for, so we took a stroll to a local beach. We did not know that our trek to the next beach would take 45 minutes, but it turned out for the better.

When we got to the beach, we rented a couple boats and sped across the ocean to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum. Although we could not go on shore, we took some amazing photographs with the ruins in the background!

This photograph reminded me of the Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Man in the World. “I do not usually drink beer, but when I do, I prefer a Dos Equis. Stay thirsty my friends.”

Check out Cancun’s blue water! The water did not even look real!

This is by far my favorite photograph. This image is simple, yet so elegant. Courtesy of Lawrence =)

During our trash the dress photo shoot, we encountered a group of tourists who thought Tiffany and Ly were actual models. Instead of having the tourists stand on the sidelines, we invited them to take part in this next photograph!

Of course, we had to dip our feet in the water. The water was SO warm!

I hope you all enjoyed Tiffany and Ly’s trash the dress session!

Return of the 67′ Bug | Claudia & Alex

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Ahoy there,

Claudia and Alex finally tied the knot at Ebell Club in Long Beach! I always love photographing weddings at Ebell Club. Ebell Club’s location, interior design, food, and service is absolutely great! I had the opportunity to photograph Claudia and Alex’s engagement photo session at the Japanese Friendship Garden in CSULB (Cal State University of Long Beach) about a month ago. This quirky couple wanted something from the norm, so we tried our best to deliver just that! Check it out!

We took the wedding party to Hilltop Park in Signal Hill to capture the city of Long Beach in the background. Hilltop Park is a wonderful location to take any wedding party for photographs! The view was breathtaking!

We had to take some wedding photographs with their beloved Bug!

This was one of the many images that were displayed during the reception at Ebell Club. It was entertaining to watch most of the guests turn their heads to figure out how this photograph was taken. =P

Vow Renewals | Gabriella & Daniel

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Hello,

I assisted Kevin Vu in this wedding located in Orange Country. This was the first time I photographed a couple renewing their vows. Gabriella and Daniel had an intimate wedding vow renewal with just their immediate family as witnesses. The wedding ceremony was quick and sweet. Enjoy!

After the wedding ceremony, we roamed around Orange Country to take a few pictures before we headed to Orange Hill for their reception. To avoid the chilly day, a cafe owner was nice enough to let us stay warm and take some wedding photographs!

The top of Orange Hill has a spectacular view of Orange Country! Gabriella and Daniel wanted one of their wedding photographs to be taken on a ledge at Orange Hill to capture all the lights below.

Of course we have to end their wedding gallery with a kiss! =)

This simple, yet heart-warming wedding ceremony was very touching. I really enjoyed photographing this wedding!

Racing in Target | Nancy & Edward

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Hello Everyone,

Nancy and Edward’s wedding was far from ordinary. The photographs taken during their engagement session is enough to describe their characters. Their wedding started when Edward and his entourage drove to pick up Nancy at her house in Claremont as a part of a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony. A Chinese wedding ceremony includes a lot of games, performances, and MONEY! =D

Nancy and her jewelery!

Each groomsmen had a task to perform before entering Nancy’s house =D

Moo…shiny

After the wedding ceremony was over, we headed to an open range in Diamond Bar. We were fortunate enough to have clear blue skies during the entire wedding. The following textures used in the next few pictures are from Tofurious.com.

Do not worry, no one from the wedding party got hurt. The obstacles the wedding party faced to take this photograph made their wedding more memorable…or traumatizing. Either way, this wedding photograph turned out perfect! =D

After running around the hills in Diamond Bar, we visited their local Target. The employees were nice enough to allow us to play and photograph inside the store!

Ready, set, GO!!!

The canvas’ that surrounded them here was fitting for this wedding photograph =)

While the Starbucks Baristas were making our coffee, we managed to fit in a few poses in their lounge. Not bad for a wedding group portrait! =)

Thank you Nancy, Edward, and your entire wedding entourage. Even though we ran around in the middle of a main street, invaded Target, and a Starbucks, these wedding photographs were all worth the trip! Our final destination for this wedding was at San Gabriel Hilton. I hope you all enjoy these photographs from their wedding as much as I did!  I will make another post later with their reception pictures in order to keep the blog more bandwidth friendly.

Ciao,

Hello,

Our next adventure takes us to Costa Mesa at the Wyndham Hotel. While Ty and his entourage were busy setting up the wedding, Annie and the girls got prepared in one of the rooms at the Wyndham Hotel.

The Wyndham Hotel’s courtyard offered plenty of photo opportunities, especially with the fountain in the back and towering palm trees in the front =)

We found this plaza across the street from Orange County Performing Arts Center. The plaza offered random rocks, fountains, and sculptures to work with during the private session. Obviously, she’s not really that tall =P
