Good afternoon Los Angeles and thank you for being so warm today! Even with the winter still about, Los Angeles has been quite warm during the day. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about LA during the night. Either way, basking in the sunlight for just a few hours in the day is fine with me. Before I head out to my next photo shoot today, here is one quick engagement photo shoot of a few friends at Los Angeles Union Station. I met Eva and Martin through my new assistant photographer, Phebe . This engagement photo session was Phebe’s gig, but Danny and I were more than happy to lend a helping hand on lighting and all that jazz. To add a change of scenery after we photographed at Union Station, we headed out to a local park in the outskirts of Los Angeles to wrap up this photo shoot. We found some interested shrubbery and flowers to bring out some colors in their pictures.

On a funny side not about this engagement photography session at LA Union Station was that Martin did not know what to bring for this photo shoot. His best decision was to bring all his dress shirts from his wardrobe and let us decide which was best to match here at LA Union Station. Hopefully, he liked our taste because we chose that purple shirt. Anyway, it fitted him best amoungst the sea of clothes. =)

I think this was our favorite engagement photo of the day. The angle of the sun sun was just perfect when it poured golden rays of light through one of LA Union Station’s main windows and gave this engagement picture such a warm feel.

I am always a sucker for themed type of wedding and engagement photography sessions. With a theme, there is a really unique direction where I can focus on when we photograph these sessions. Nanae and Jonathan is a quirky couple who love art; whether it is in photography or fashion. Jonathan’s profession is designing projects for movie productions for Lucas Arts and Nanae love fashion designs and makeup. When we threw in our ideas together, this is what we decided on for their edgy engagement photography session. In Nanae and Jonathan’s engagement session in Pasadena and Los Angeles, they chose the theme “Shanghai 1942″ which was super classy! Of course, even with a classy photo shoot, we added a bit of our personal spice to this engagement photography session.

With this themed engagement photo session, we chose two cities that have upheld their classic look through the changes – Pasadena and Chinatown Los Angeles. Our first location at Pasadena was to warm up and create edgy photographs in the fields under one of Old Town Pasadena’s overpass. One of the best parts of engagement photography session is that there are no time restrictions and anything can happen! An unexpected event during this photo shoot at Pasadena was that we ran into a couple goat owners and they allowed us to take some fun photos with their pets (you will see below)!

Once everyone warmed up and the timing of the sun was perfect, we headed to Chinatown Los Angeles to start our super edgy, yet classy, engagement photo shoot with their “Shanghai 1942″ theme. In order to capture these type of photos, Danny and I set up multiple strobes to keep the focus on our subjects. On the side note, the accessories and outfits from Nanae were all her designs, which pulled off in this edgy engagement photography session perfectly! After we concluded our engagement photo session here in Chinatown Los Angeles, we wrapped everything all nicely up over at Hotel Figueroa! Since Hotel Figueroa’s lobby is a work or art in itself with all the colors and designs, it was not hard to find a place to take some awesome photos! Ahoy there!

Nita and Manu’s engagement photography session in Los Angeles was a rather unique one! Since Manu is employed by Los Angeles Times, we gained access to photograph their stylish engagement shoot in the actual building without any interruptions. Throughout the photo shoot, Manu gave Danny and me a tour around the building and its rich history. The top floor of Los Angeles Times building was untouched since the 60s which had a very vintage feel towards everything. Or course we had to make the most out of this top floor and photograph to our heart’s content.

After we all had our fill at LA Times Building, we headed to Disney Concert Hall and Santa Monica to wrap up our engagement photography session for some colors. We walked and played in the water until sunset and concluded our photo shoot.

Good evening everyone,

For those outside of Los Angeles, our fair city was hit hard by Santa Ana winds and a large section of LA was out of power. Luckily, my pad was not affected, so my friends and family camped at my place until their power was restored. It was a rather fun weekend to have so much people stay in my house! Parts of Los Angeles is still under construction, but hopefully everything will be recovered in a timely manner. =)

Tammy and Thomas are two close friends of mine and I was more than happy to photograph their engagement session at UCLA! Tammy and I grew up together since high school and went to the same college, so UCLA was quite sentimental for the both of us. We ran around from Royce Hall to the Sculpture Gardens for their pictures! We then made a pit stop at Santa Monica for lunch and wrapped up our engagement photography session in Downtown Los Angeles at Art District! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

I got off on the perfect start with Angie and Irwanto since we first met! Our conversation consisted mostly of sushi, which went on for hours at a time. Irwanto works at a local sushi restaurant in Pasadena and invited Danny and me to drop by whenever we get the chance. Aside from sushi talk, they wanted their engagement photographs to have some style to it. We started off at Laguna Beach and explored the little corners the beach had to offer. Afterward, we took a drive down to LACMA (Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art) to wrap up to engagement shoot. Check it out!
