Dancing with Lions | Mabel & Michael

February 23, 2015

Good evening everyone!

This next wedding is a bit of a special one. One of my dearest friends, Mabel and Michael, finally got hitched last summer and there were plenty of familiar faces around that day. I have known these cool cats since high school and participated in a handful of crazy adventures with them since then. Now it was the next chapter in their lives and it was an honor to record such a special moment. To kick start this little love story, everyone started their morning with…A LOT OF COFFEE! Both sides of the party, including us, were up at the crack of dawn prepping for the wedding and of course, horsed around with a bunch of friends in between our duties. Time flew by quite quickly with good company, so 5AM with the help of coffee was not bad at all! Mabel and Michael performed a couple traditional tea ceremonies on both sides of the families to honor and respect their elders. Through each cup given to their relatives, they were offered some wise words from each relative in exchange. Once the wedding ceremony was over, we headed out to a local park to wrap up some cool wedding portraits before their reception. Their reception was one eventful moment after another. From speeches, bountiful of food, to an epic lion dance performance by one of Michael’s uncles, everyone cheered and enjoyed the night away. Enjoy.

Donuts & Sweets | Anh & Koi

July 23, 2013

When it comes to sweets, memories bring me back to our next lovely couple, Anh and Khoi. From morning to night, there were plenty of snacks to go around to make sure their wedding guests were happy and well fed. Our morning started off with donuts from Krispy Kreme and the night ended up with delicious cakes (yes, plural). Phebe and I kick started everything at Anh’s pad where the ladies all got their makeup done while the boys had wrapped up the final wedding details. Once everyone from the wedding party were finished, we raced over to Mile Square Park for some really awesome wedding photos! Throughout the wedding photography session, there were curious little ducks and squirrels that followed us and had a particular liking to one of the groomsmen (see below).

Once Anh and Khoi’s wedding portraits were done, we continued on toward their wedding ceremony! One of my favorite grooms, and now friend, Glenn Lee, officiated the wedding and married these two love birds. After the formalities were over, the party went on from their grand entrance all the way to the end of the night! There were games, dances, and crazy performances that kept everyone at the wedding entertained. Enjoy.

Derringer | Jenny & An

June 10, 2012

Good evening everyone,

It was a good day when my childhood friend, Jenny, finally married her beloved An! There were so many familiar faces from our school who attended their wedding. With all the energy in one wedding, there were so many momentous events to photograph! There were laughter and definitely plenty of tears (of course from happiness) shared amongst her friends and family. It was definitely a real treat to not only be invited to their wedding as a guest, but also being entrusted as their wedding photographer.

The day started with Jenny and her gals prepped up at Sheraton Hotel in Anaheim (Orange County), while An and his boys suited up at his pad in Westminster (also in Orange County). There were plenty of humorous side stories in between each event in this wedding and I will try my best to explain in detail. To start off, Janet (Jenny’s maid of honor and also Danny’s squeeze) thought of a creative idea for all the ladies in the wedding party to wear a derringer under their dresses. The wedding photo below is a sweet shot of all their derringers piled up on top of each other before they hid them under their garters. While the ladies enjoyed their morning, An on the other hand, wanted to look more “masculine” in his wedding photos. Before he allowed Danny to take their first shot, he did plenty of push-ups and sit-ups beforehand to compliment his…confidence. As their wedding photos progress, I will add in more stories below. For now just site back, relax, and enjoy their wedding photos!

The derringers!

Cute little piggy stored all their spare change for the wedding! We just had to add this photo along with the rest of their wedding story.

The little girl is all grown up with her wedding dress and all!

I suppose everyone has their own methods of putting on lipstick.

There were three wedding ceremonies that Jenny and An had to perform before they partied hard at The Villa. Two of the wedding ceremonies were traditional tea ceremonies to each of their families for their blessings and one catholic mass.

I suppose their fist pump made their wedding official.

After their wedding ceremonies all came to an end, we all ran around Orange County for their wedding photography session, while their wedding guests enjoyed cocktail hour at The Villa.

Dig the socks

Time to replenish! In between wedding photos, the wedding party munched on some McDonald’s cheeseburgers. Once they were ready for the next series of photos, they had to check their teeth to avoid any unwanted embarrassments!

Next couple wedding photographs compliments of Geoff (our new addition to Furious Photographers family)

Janet had to photo-bomb at least one picture!

Before the floor opened up for dancing, Jenny and An had their first dance as husband and wife. I totally dig the traditional red Chinese wedding dress.

Congratulations to the both of you again! It was our pleasure to be your wedding photographers at such a beautiful chapter in your lives.

Cheers,

Back to Summit House | Darlene & Justin

May 2, 2012

Hello everyone!

The weather here in Los Angeles is still rather temperamental. We are transitioning from Spring to Summer and Los Angeles still gets a few random moments of rain out of nowhere! Unfortunately, the rain does not last long enough to fully clean my car!

Darlene and Justin’s wedding in Orange County last year fortunately had a more pleasant weather with the sun and beautiful blue skies. To refresh everyone’s memories, Darlene and Justin had their engagement photo session done at good ol’ Pasadena City Hall and Old Town Pasadena. It was a rather fun day thinking back on their engagement photo session in Pasadena. The most memorable for me about that engagement session were their smiles. Their smiles can light up anyone’s mood and they lit up the crowd during their wedding. Darlene and Justin started their wedding bright and early at Hyatt Regency in Orange County where they each hung out with their designated wedding parties. Of course, Darlene and her wedding party took the suite while Justin and his boys had to take a smaller room. During their preparations, Darlene emphasized on having a nice photograph of her proud Christian Louboutin wedding shoes (Check out that photo below)! Once the entire wedding party was dressed to their best, we all made our way to St. Denis Church to get these two love birds married!

After the wedding ceremony and all the formalities out of the way, everyone enjoyed the night away over at Summit House located in Fullerton (Orange County). The details from the centerpieces to the little wedding party favors were absolutely perfect. One of the more hilarious memories of the night was that Darlene’s father has a reputation of talking forever. The time allocated for her father’s speech was only 5 minutes, which was used up quite quickly without any signs of her father concluding his blessings to the newly weds. Although this pushed back the wedding itinerary but a few stops, but every moment was well worth it. The smiles and laughter that Darlene’s father gave from his speech were so “perfect picture” quality! After everything that was needed to be said, the dance floor opened up and the rest of the wedding went down in history. I must admit, some of these people’s dance moves at the wedding were too much for my conservative eyes, but made amazing wedding photos to laugh over in the future!

…yes, as you can tell from the wedding billboard on the following picture, I am over a year behind on my wedding blogs. One of my New Years Resolution is to take some more time to get updated on my wedding blog. There are so many amazing wedding and engagement photos yet to be revealed so keep stalking!

All I can saw for the following wedding picture was “HOLY COW!” Apparently, she has done this before and flipped around with ease and struck a pose for the camera afterward.

Cork Toss | Olivia & Tim

April 2, 2012

Good afternoon!

Today’s wedding blog entry is going to be a really long one filled with lots of wedding photos! This was a rather special wedding in Mission Viejo (Orange County), especially since these two were good friends of my previous wedding couple Stephanie and George who hosted their wedding at Langham in Pasadena. Danny and I started our day bright and early at Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach where we captured Olivia and her girls getting ready before their traditional tea ceremony to respect their elders and to have her parents’ blessing. While Olivia finished her final touches on her traditional Chinese wedding dress, we hung outside with Tim and photographed the the obstacles he had to do before entering Olivia’s room where her parents waited patiently. After all the fun and games were over, Olivia and her parents shared a touching moment as she bid farewell after their tea ceremony.

After all the fond moments shared at their Fairmont suite, they paraded to Tim’s house where his parents also patiently waited to offer their blessings to both Olivia and their son. There was so much love that filled the room and each shot was picture perfect! With one event after another, Olivia and Tim had a short break to relax in their room away from all the hustle and bustle. While Tim relaxed and organized with his wedding party the final touches to their schedule, Olivia jumped into her amazing wedding dress with the help of her bridesmaids. Once Olivia’s wedding dress was tied, laced, and fitted to perfection, we all headed towards Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Mission Viejo (Orange County) for their grand wedding ceremony! Enjoy their wedding photos.

With a bit of time to spare before the wedding ceremony, we took the wedding part out around the golf course for their wedding photography session. After we wrapped up the wedding party, we finished up Olivia and Tim’s wedding portrait session on the outskirts of the property.

After the wedding ceremony was over, the wedding guests were all served with wine, cheese, and live music to set the mood before the reception. Once all the wedding guests were situated in their designated seats, Oliva and Tim set the night with an amazing dance routine and followed by dancing with their parents.

After all the speeches and toasts, Olivia and Tim had a fun game for all the wedding guests to participate in. They had a handful of corks they saved up in the past, but one had their name on it. Whoever caught the lucky cork won a prize! With the crowd that fought for that lucky cork, the wedding photograph taken was definitely worthy of concluding the story of their wedding here at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course.
