St Regis Wedding Photographer | Karin & Leonard

I hope everyone is ready for the summer breeze to roll in, at least I am! The temperature here in Los Angeles is definitely heating up and it is time for beach season.

Before I start posting our wedding photography adventures in the summer, let us kick back one step to Spring at St. Regins Monarch in Dana Point. Karin and Leonard chose this beautiful wedding venue to exchange their vows, love and tie their knot. Karin started off with a lot of hairspray and lots of laughter with her girlfriends in one room, while Leonard and the boys ironed every wrinkle out of their outfits and looked their best. Once everyone was dressed to impress, Karin and Leonard had their first look at St. Regis’ famous staircase with the rest of the wedding party. While Leonard laid eyes on Karin we snapped away in the background and captured so many touching wedding photos. We gave them a few more minutes of privacy before we had to move them along with the rest of the show! With the extra time before the wedding ceremony down at the golf course, the wedding party literally ran around everywhere and had a blast throughout the wedding photography session! Make it Hot | Laura & Adrian

March 15, 2014

Remember last year during the summer heat in Los Angeles? For those to do not, it was HOT! Laura and Adrian hosted their wedding during one of the weekends during this heat wave at beautiful Rancho Las Lomas. Despite the temperature, everybody laughed it off and had a blast while constant refreshments were delivered to keep everyone at the wedding cool.

Hello Kitty | Shannen & Ting

All I have to say about my next wedding couple is that they are one of the cutest pair ever. Aside from Shannen’s love of Hello Kitty throughout their house, their humble abode was so tastefully decorated. Every detail of their house was taken with rather specific attention. They have the cutest house with a nice garden to match the attire. Their tasteful and cute house matched their personalities rather accurately. You can see their house through the wedding photos below to be your own judge. Aside from their home, they kept their wedding as simple and enjoyable as possible. Everyone started bright and early with an intimate tea ceremony at their house with a select few of their closest relatives. Afterward, we all took off around Alhambra and San Gabriel to take a series of really fun wedding photos. Through their portrait session, I just had to photo bomb one of their wedding pictures. I think I pulled it off quite nicely!

Santa Barbara Four Seasons Wedding | Jessica & Michael

January 6, 2014

It is finally time to post the lovely Jessica and Michael’s destination wedding photos! It was a beautiful morning when we all headed up north to Santa Barbara Four Seasons where Jessica and Michael prepped up for their grand day. The ladies all started their day bright and early at a local boutique hotel where their makeup artists did a great job and Michael and the boys horsed around while they suited up. From Jessica’s amazing wedding dress to the flower arrangements, everything was planned perfectly. Words cannot really describe how beautiful their wedding was, so I will just let their wedding photos do the talking.

On a side note here at Four Seasons, there were one hilarious outtake after another. I believe that despite how perfectly you plan your wedding, the unexpected turn of events are what makes a wedding so memorable; nerve racking or not! One of the more memorable outtake was 5 minutes before their wedding ceremony, the alter collapsed from the wind! All the wedding vendors quickly rushed to the alter and tried to put it back together. We facilitated each vendor to hold up a pillar while I tied everything down with telephone cables (that was all I could find at the moment). Once everything was tied down, we anchored it with sandbags from our light stands. We did everything we could at the moment and just prayed it will last through the quick ceremony before the wind wanted to go for a second round. Luckily everything stood strong throughout the ceremony and their wedding photos turned out perfectly. The rest of the day went according to plan during their reception and everyone danced the night away from Jack Hou’s sweet beats. Enjoy!

Happy New Year 2014

January 4, 2014

It is that time again where we start the year fresh and try our best to not break our new year resolution. I am part of the bunch that usually breaks them through procrastination and lack of discipline. My new year resolution is to…not break my new year resolutions! One of my resolutions is to stop and enjoy a bit of rest and relaxation. After a crazy 2013 and my last wedding of the year, I decided to pack up my camera and drive to Yosemite! The irony of leaving my work behind in this short vacation and I still brought my camera. I suppose my camera brings some sort of peace. During my stay at Yosemite, I took up a few hiking trails that were open at the time and lugged my camera and tripod up the mountain. One of the more satisfying photos from that trip was star photography up on top of the mountain. I was not sure if it was a good or bad idea since the temperature dropped drastically and the entire forest was pitch black. I was not even able to see 5 feet in front of me after sunset! Once the stars blanketed the sky, it made my wait up in the mountains worthwhile. Check out the quick preview of my experimentation on landscape photography!

I hope you all enjoyed this quick preview of my trip in Yosemite! Unfortunately, the snow was not melted so the waterfalls were rather small. Hopefully, I can make another trip out here during Spring to see the waterfalls at full blast! Happy 2014 everyone.

Cheers,

p.s. – Note to self and everyone who want to do these night photography – Bring extra batteries. My session was cut short when my battery died. ^_^
