Wrapping Up 2013

It has definitely been a great year from beginning to end. There is a lot to be thankful about from all our adventures. We were honored to attend so many special weddings and participate as not only as wedding photographers, but bask in the love of everyone there. This year as wedding photographers took us all over the world to record so many precious moments. I must admit, this was one heck of a roller coaster ride filled with never ending excitement. I just cannot wait for what next year’s wedding photography will have in store for us. Hopefully next year we will not have any problems running into certain authorities; that I can tone down a bit! Either way, what is the fun of a wedding if we do not run into a bit of trouble along the way, right? Below is a quick highlight of the engagement, family, and wedding photos that we have photographed throughout the year. Unfortunately, I was not able to post all my favorite engagement and wedding photos on this post without creating too much clutter. Rest assure, I will get to blogging each and every one of these joyous events in detail with their own gallery of wonderful engagement and wedding photographs!

Let It Pour | Ashley & Ray

It was a rainy afternoon when Danny, Wilson, and I took a trip down to San Diego to photograph a short and intimate wedding at Darlington House. I must say that I would not have known about this beautiful wedding venue if not for our lovely couple, Ashley and Ray! Darlington House is definitely a hidden gem here in San Diego. Despite the rain, the wedding proceeded as planned and everyone took refuge from the rain inside the warm house until it was time for Ashely to walk down the aisle. The only change in the wedding was just a huge tent top to keep everyone dry during the wedding. Nonetheless, the photographs turned out beautifully.

Ashley and her girls were really good at those DIY arts and crafts details for the wedding, so every little piece of the wedding was rather sentimental for Ashley and Ray. Of all the DIY pieces of the wedding, Ashley’s bouquet had to be the most eye catching (you will see below). There were so many hugs and kisses passed around each family member and friends after the wedding ceremony concluded. All in all, their wedding wrapped up from preparation to reception in about 4-5 hours; quite impressive in my opinion. Enjoy the show!

Colors of the Rainbow | Sarina & Chirag

Ahoy everyone,

I hope everyone’s Mother’s Day went swimmingly and there were plenty of joy and laughter throughout the day. In my case, I grabbed my mom and a a couple others out for an early breakfast before the insane rush of people poured into every restaurant! I suppose the early bird does get the worm.

Finally after playing catch up on writing my wedding and engagement blog entries, I can finally post up one of my favorite destination weddings that happened at Fairmont Hotel in San Jose! To recap on this lovely couple, we took a day trip over to San Francisco to photograph Sarina & Chirag’s engagement photo session. We ran around all over the city of San Francisco for their engagement pictures which included Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay, danced in the rain at San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, and concluded at Embarcadero. As exciting as their engagement photo session in San Francisco was for us, their Indian style wedding at Fairmont Hotel in San Jose was absolutely unbelievable. From the start to finish, there was not a minute when we wanted to put our cameras down since there was always something amazing going on. From parading down the main streets at Fairmont Hotel, the colorful wedding attire, acrobatic shows, to all the adrenaline pumping dances, Sarina and Chirag really know how to throw down a party!

To warm up for Sarina and Chirag’s wedding, each spent their quiet morning preparing in their designated suites at Fairmont Hotel. Danny, Geoff and I jumped from one room to another to capture some sweet “behind the scenes” wedding photos before these two met each other for the first time in their full wedding attire. Once their wedding preparations were all finished, Sarina and Chirag had their “first glance” over in back of Fairmont Hotel in a small secluded street to have a moment to themselves. After their brief moment to catch their breath, the rest of the wedding went on full throttle to the next series of sweet wedding photos of just them two and their wedding entourage. After the wedding portrait session concluded, Chirag and practically everyone paraded down the streets while Sarina waited patiently back at Fairmont Hotel before the Indian wedding ceremony started. Get comfortable because there will be a lot of wedding pictures. Every wedding photograph was too good to not showcase!

What wedding do you know where the groom makes an entrance with a white stallion with an entire parade behind him? Not to mention a whole lot of dancing and music!

One of my favorite wedding detail was during their Indian wedding ceremony. The custom made alter was filled with overflowing flowers and tastefully matching colored petals.

After the Indian wedding ceremony concluded, we managed to take a couple wedding detail photos of the reception hall before the doors opened out to their guests. Now that is one impressive wedding centerpiece!

Once doors opened and all the guests were seated, there were a whole lot of events to keep everyone entertained. There were many skits, songs, choreographed dances, and even an acrobatic performance where the performers swung across the ceilings! After all the formalities and the wedding program ended, literally everyone jumped onto the huge dance floor and showed of their best moves for the rest of the night.

While all the guests were entertained, we pulled Sarina and Chirag out for one last quick wedding photography session since they are in a different outfit. We thought these last wedding photos was a good way to wrap up a successful night.

Congratulations to the both of you, Sarina and Chirag. It was a real pleasure to take part as your wedding photographers! Special thanks to Mili for an amazing job coordinating this wedding and made sure everything went accordingly.

New York Wedding in Style | Caroline & Eugene

Greetings everyone,

After all these constant entries to update my wedding photography blog, I have finally come around to post this really amazing and intimate wedding that Danny and I photographed in New York. Our previous visit to New York was to photograph Caroline and Eugene’s engagement photo shoot all over New York and Long Island. This time we have come back to photograph Caroline and Eugene’s grand wedding with all their family and friends here back in at a local country club called Glenn Island Harbour Club outside of New York City. Caroline and Eugene’s wedding started bright and early at a local salon. While Caroline had her makeup done, Eugene finalized the measurements for his tuxedo. Eugene looked dapper like a regular James Bond after he was fitted in nice and snug. Throughout each memorable and hilarious event from the salon, we snapped away recording one wedding photo after another. Once everyone from the wedding party were dressed and suited up, we all headed towards Glenn Island Harbour Club to start off their wedding portrait session before the family and friends arrived for the grand wedding ceremony. Bromance

For the next following wedding photo, Caroline wanted an example of how the next wedding pose should look like. Instead of trying to explain with hand gestures, Eugene and I posed for her to be a better visual idea of what we had in mind. Either way, we both pulled off a sweet wedding photo.

After the wedding ceremony concluded, everyone was escorted to the reception hall for our lovely wedding couple’s grand entrance. After formalities were done, everyone danced the night away!

Congratulations again to the both of you love birds. I always look forward for the next opportunity to visit New York again. It was definitely a pleasure to be your destination wedding photographers.

Fairmont Hotel Wedding | Tulsi & Mihir – Indian Wedding Day 3

Happy Hump Day everyone,

It has been quite a heatwave here in Los Angeles and cooling down is quite a challenge. I hope everyone is either staying indoors with a ice cold drink or out lounging at the beach!

With most of my work caught up, I can finally continue on updating this wedding blog and for all those who waited patiently, I can present Tusli and Mihir’s wedding photographs from their third and final day of their huge Indian wedding bonanza here at Fairmont Hotel in San Jose! It was a cool New Year’s day (yes, lagging on this wedding post) when Tulsi and Mihir invited all their family, friends, and friends of family to Fairmont Hotel to celebrate the joining of their marriage and their families. There were so many colors from all their guests’ attire and there was even a horse that chauffeured Mihir to Fairmont Hotel to receive Tulsi! The wedding guests danced across Main Street with Mihir and let loose for the entire public to see. While the boys and the rest of the wedding party danced away to the music outside, Tulsi and her ladies calmly enjoyed their breakfast during their makeup session. Since there were so many events that took place during the wedding, Geoff and I had to split a couple times to photograph the wedding party downstairs, Tulsi and her ladies, and the family photos! There was not a moment wasted where there was something fun to photograph and enjoy. Once Tulsi and her wedding bridal party were finished, they paraded downstairs for everyone to see and for Mihir to receive her. Throughout the process, it was an extremely touching moment with so much emotions around.

The alter where the wedding ceremony commenced was eye catching in itself. Their wedding alter was beautifully decorated with flowers and vines all over. The photos below showed a few nice snap shots of their wedding details. There were multiple rituals during the wedding ceremony; each significant in their own way. After the wedding ceremony concluded, all the wedding guests made their way to cocktail hour to mingle while Geoff and I had some time to spare for a nice portrait session with just the wedding party. Despite near subzero weather, the wedding party were real troopers and powered through the cold with laughter and pure adrenaline as Geoff and I tried to make each wedding photo count as our cameras snapped away! Once the wedding party photos were finished, we concentrated some nice wedding photos of just Tulsi and Mihir. Mihir held Tulsi in so closely not only because of love, but it was SO cold!!!

Of course, with all the wedding photos wrapped up, Tulsi and Mihir rewarded themselves back at the reception hall with all their wedding guests and hors d’oeuvres while they warmed themselves up. During the reception, there were so many dance performances and skits to entertain all the wedding guests during dinner. After everyone at the wedding had their fill, the dance floor opened up for everyone to show off their own special grooves. Literally everyone got off their seats and danced the night away! Imagine about 500+ wedding guests on the dance floor at the same time; it was a real sight.
