For every wedding that we photograph, there is always an unexpected surprise with twists and turns in every corner. For this next wedding hosted at beautiful Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica, Louise was an opera singer and WOW can she sing during their reception. It is always great to not only photograph a wedding at a beautiful venue such as Skirball Cultural Center at Santa Monica, but also to be a guest. I suppose I am at an age where my friends are slowly proposing and hosting weddings quite frequently now. One of my dearest friends, Jamie and Joey, finally tied the knot! These two college sweet hearts have dated for some time since college and Joey eventually popped the question after graduation at UCLA! Although they moved back home to Maryland, their hearts and friends are still in California. What better way to host their wedding than over here at Skirball Cultural Center in sunny Santa Monica.
Although even at sunny California, their wedding started off with rain and lots of it! Although the downpour had a few setbacks, this did not dampen their spirits at all. Jamie and her girls started off bright and early at a local salon in Korea Town, Los Angeles with plenty of coffee and donuts to warm themselves up while Joey finished the last of their wedding preparations at Skirball Cultural Center. While the hairspray and makeup session went on, our cameras did not stop clicking away from a distance. Once everyone’s makeup were done, we all headed our way to Skirball Cultural Center to meet up with Joey and the boys for their “first look.” Luckily, shortly before Jamie was all ready in her wedding dress and shoes, the rain retired and the sun popped up just in time! Talk about getting lucky! Once these two love birds met up and checked each other out, Wilson, Phebe, and I immediately started the photography session with the entire wedding party before the ceremony.
Their wedding ceremony was quick, short, and sweet. To top it off, there was a song performed by one of their wedding guests to make things even sweeter! The entire wedding felt like it breezed by so quickly once their reception started. There were exchanges of sweet speeches by their friends and family and finished with Jamie and Joey thanking everyone for participating in their joyous occasion. Enjoy their wedding photos!

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Santa Monica where Pamela and Tim decided to host their wedding. For all those who live in Los Angeles, a beautiful afternoon in Santa Monica does not only relate to the weather, but it also means no traffic on 10 and 405 freeway!!! Throughout the entire wedding, there were so many different cultures that were contributed to this beautiful event. I personally have to say that the best addition were the live mariachi bands that played throughout the entire reception. I am such a sucker for live bands, so this might be a bias opinion. =)
Pamela and Tim started their wedding with their preparation at Hotel Angelino. Since they dressed up at the same location and were not to see each other until the ceremony, I was quite entertained as I watched their entourage patrol the hallways and elevators. Get comfortable everyone, this is going to be a long wedding blog. There were too many fun filled photos that I cannot omit!
