I hope everyone is enjoying the summer breeze and the beach at least a couple times this year. Despite the drought here in Los Angeles, we can still enjoy the summer while being conservative with our water intake. This next engagement photography session took our next adventure to Santa Monica beach where the sun is bright, nice breeze, and somewhat questionable waters (Los Angeles dwellers know what I am talking about). Mindy and Erik wanted some fun loving and carefree style in their engagement photos and with their beloved tandem bicycle. What better place to ride your bike than along the beach, right? Check out our quick day where we cruised along the beach and ran on top of Santa Monica Pier during this engagement photography shoot!

Hold on Closely | Jessica & Michael
December 31, 2013Downtown Los Angeles
It was a beautiful summer afternoon when Wilson and I photographed Jessica and Michael’s engagement session in Downtown Los Angeles. Since these two live in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, it is only fitting to host their engagement photography session here. We started off their engagement session in their cozy apartment even when they were getting ready for the photo shoot. The subtle details before the actual shoot made their story a bit more complete. We ran around from the heart of Downtown LA, to the public park nearby, Los Angeles Union Station, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and wrapped up their engagement photo session at beautiful Hotel Figueroa. This may seem like a lot of locations, but luckily everything was in Downtown LA and was only a few minutes driving distance between each location. The most challenging part was finding parking!
Jessica and Michael wanted something more edgy and a bit of spice in their engagement photos. These two were not traditional at all and wanted their photos to reflect how exciting and fun they are, and I must agree they are definitely interesting characters. Michael requested that his favorite Jeep was to be involved during their edgy engagement photo session; why not, right?! After we left their apartment, we parked his Jeep on a dirt path and lit up our strobes for some really sweet photos! After we wrapped up the edgy engagement photos with their Jeep, Jessica changed into an amazing traditional Chinese dress for our next location at Los Angeles Union Station. I must admit, the choice of her outfit and the era of LA Union Station matched perfectly! Since she was in her beautiful outfit, we chose to add a few extra edgy engagement photos in Chinatown to complete their outfits. Before we concluded the night, these two changed into a more elegant gown and wrapped up our edgy engagement photo session at Hotel Figueroa with some more classic black and white photos.
I hope you all enjoyed their amazing engagement photo session here in Los Angeles. Keep posted and wait for their elegant destination wedding photos from Four Seasons in Santa Barbara!
Cheers,

Lights | Katie & Pete
July 22, 2013Welcome back Katie & Pete into the mix! To keep everyone up to pace, Katie and Pete’s first engagement photography session took place in Downtown Los Angeles in their Rugby outfits and their lovely wedding took place over at Maya Hotel in Long Beach. To complete their photo collection, Danny and I took Katie and Pete over to LACMA (Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art) for a really…REALLY quick photo session. I think this engagement photography session took us about 10 minutes to wrap up. Enjoy!

Movie Hopping | Sabrina & Will
July 22, 2013Good afternoon everyone,
The weather here in Los Angeles has been rather moody lately. There were a few instances where it was raining here along with a few hazy days. On the brighter note, the sun finally peaked out today and let the warmth back in the city.
This next engagement photography session took place in Pasadena at an old theater. Unfortunately, this theater has been closed down for some time due to safety issues, but it still has a lot of character, especially for our purpose of engagement photos. Danny, Phebe, and I started strong by running around the foyer and lit the engagement session up with a few strobes. Even though this engagement blog entry is just a short preview, but it still looks really sweet! Enjoy the show.

Sabrina and Will was such a good sport throughout their engagement session. I will be posting their wedding from Calamigos Ranch in Malibu shortly, so stay tuned!

Downtown LA Engagement Photos | Julianne & Joseph
January 7, 2013Hello Los Angeles,
Another fine day here in LA, aside from the sporadic weather with the rain and partial sunshine. On the brighter note, Los Angeles drivers all get free car washes! Today’s feature will be back in our home turf on Downtown Los Angeles with Julianne and Joseph. This lovely couple wanted a quick photo shoot just around LA and the historical 4th St. bridge that will unfortunately be torn down soon due to rust. For those who have not been on that bridge in Los Angeles, I would totally encourage you to visit and snap a few photographs for good memories before it is gone. With the 4th St. Bridge full of character, Danny and I breezed through this engagement photography session with style! Check out the engagement photography session at Downtown Los Angeles below!
