In the Mood for Red | Mary & Adam

Hello world,

Time to write about the last engagement session that Danny and I had during our stay here in Manhattan, New York. Mary and Adam were referred by our beloved couple Beth and Nik who got married at Wayfarer’s Chapel and Shade Hotel, Manhattan Beach. Mary and Adam were such a stylish and energetic pair, which made this engagement photo session so fun and exciting from beginning to end! Since Manhattan, New York offered so many locations that we cannot cover all in one day, we had to choose wisely on where to take our engagement pictures. In the end, we all narrowed down the photo session to the following locations: Central Park, iPhone Cube Store, SoHo (South of Houston), and Meat Packing District. Since the engagement photo session started early, it was a nice weather to start our stroll down Central Park. The evergreens paired with the other trees that shed their autumn leaves was such a beautiful combination for any picture! We ran around from the lake…and restricted areas for the following photographs!

Side note: For you Apple lovers, they are district managers of Apple branches all over New York, which meant they clowned on my Droid phone. Unfortunately, I was out-manned and out-gunned since Danny also owns an iPhone. (sad face)

There were two photos of the day and they are the following two below! The funny side story to these following photos was that during our engagement photo session, there were other engagement sessions that went on near us. Since Danny and I tried to avoid the crowd and did something different, the other photographers trailed us and copied us every step of the way. We eventually gave the other photographers a few pointers. Share the wealth, right?!

After we had our fill over at Central Park, we concluded everything over at Meat Packing District and The High Line.

Even though the two love birds both live in Manhattan, they will be celebrating their wedding over at Wayfarer’s Chapel and Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach.

Kickin’ the Leaves | Caroline & Eugene

Hello everyone,

Our next crazy photo adventure took us to the Big Apple (Manhattan, New York)! Danny and I spent the weekend for two engagement photography sessions! Once engagement photo session was in the suburbs, while the other photo session took place in the heart of Manhattan, New York! Our friends, Caroline and Eugene, are two love birds who met in college and fell in love at first sight. Danny and I were actually one of the witnesses when they got married at City Hall to make things official before their grand wedding with everyone else a few months afterward; it was such a touching moment. Anyway, after the paperwork was signed and wrapped up, we wasted no time to start their engagement photography session! After the long scenic route across New York, we ended at a park sentimental to them to start their pictures! With the Fall season during this photo session, the leaves displayed all their vibrant yellows, reds, and oranges!!! Of course since we all have mutual friends, our buds all tagged along and photo-bombed a handful of pictures…we totally encouraged it.

After we finished kicking leaves at the park, we cruised around the city for donuts and coffee. Sorry, no photos of our donuts, but we did get some fun pictures of our crew.

Mac n’ Cheese | Marci & Faustino

Hello Los Angeles!

Today’s engagement session took us to sunny Santa Monica Pier where I photographed on of my dear friends and classmate from UCLA (University of CA, Los Angeles), Marci and Faustino! Marci and Faustino had a quick break in their busy schedules to fit in their engagement photo session and since they both live in Santa Monica, this place was most suitable for this fun loving couple. The colorful arrangements from the Ferris Wheel and roller coasters added that extra spice to these pictures. We ran around and took photos from the top all the way to the bottom of the pier where we got our feet wet a bit. For you macaroni and cheese lovers, we wrapped up our engagement photo session with a HUGE MACARONI! I hope that macaroni will be a permanent piece at Santa Monica Pier…such a cool tourist attraction. Check out their pictures!

Pasadena Engagement Photos | Jazmin & Arturo

Good evening,

Danny and my next trip took us back to beautiful Old Town Pasadena for Jazmin and Arturo’s engagement photography session. It was a cloudy weather somewhat like today, but without the chances of rain. Either way, they brightened up the mood with their quirky personalities and colorful outfits! We went from one alley to another during their engagement shoot. One sweet alley in Pasadena that we found was actually in the process of repainting by street artist. With the fresh coat of paint on the wall, it brought out so much colors in the background of Jazmin and Arturo’s engagement pictures! After all the running around in Old Town Pasadena, we wrapped everything up in Pasadena City Hall with the grand hallways and arches. Check it out!

007 | Reeden & Marc

Hello again everyone,

Today’s blog entry will be quite short, but definitely worthwhile! Reeden and Marc were originally from Alaska, but have family here in Los Angeles. During one of their visits, they scheduled their engagement photo shoot with Phebe and me at Downtown Los Angeles in LA Union Station, Bradbury Building, and a couple other fun locations. Marc was always the type that wanted to look mysterious, debonair, etc. In a nutshell, Marc hinted that he wanted to look like James Bond for their engagement photo session in Los Angeles! I definitely encourage people to have some fun with these photo shoots such as themes and original ideas to spice things up. Of course, since Marc wanted to look like Bond, Reeden wore an evening gown to compliment any secret agent. Check out their engagement photography session and let me know if they pulled it off!

For all you “500 Days of Summer” fans, here was the exact bench that was in the movies! Aside from the whole excitement of the movie, this little patch of greens that sits in the middle of Downtown LA offers an amazing view of the city. After a quick 5 minute break to enjoy the breath of fresh air, we wrapped up Reeden and Marc’s engagement photo session right here and called it a day!

It was definitely a fun day to hang out with you all for this fun engagement photo shoot here in Downtown Los Angeles. I will be posting their wedding at Electra Cruises in Newport Beach soon!
