It was so much fun when I took a trip to Manhattan (New York) for Joanne and Brian’s destination engagement photography session! We roamed all over New York and took so many amazing photographs. Funny thing was we were on a time schedule during this engagement photo session since Brian was an umpire for a baseball game later that night!!!

My life somehow revolves around apples. I like apple juice. I like baking apple pies. I also like playing the board game, Apples to Apples. Of all the places I have visited, a part of me will never leave the Big Apple (New York City…for those who do not know). I take any opportunity to fly back out to New York; whether it is to photograph a wedding or just to visit some familiar faces. As for this trip, Joanne and Brian gave me the pleasure to photograph their engagement session.

I love seeing people with those “Free Hugs” signs. Despite how gloomy a person’s day may be, the simple things in life such as a huge can brighten anyone’s mood.

Brian may not be a sailor from WWll, but he managed to pull this off quite well. =)

I have to give a special thanks to Tiffany (one of my lovely brides) for the help during this engagement session. Thank you Joanne and Brian for the wonderful day. I look forward to seeing how your wedding unfolds!

Since I started this blog entry with apples, it is only courteous to end with a good apple quote. “How you like them apples?” – Matt Damon

When we photographed Cindy and Jerome’s engagement photo session at Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles) and Old Town Pasadena, it rained on us all day long. Even with a little rain, that did not dampen our spirits at all. When it rains, we get artistic with our photos!

There are ups and downs when the rain pours on you during an engagement shoot, but usually there are more ups than down. If it is the other way around, that means the engagement session will come to an end and there will not be any pictures, right? Fortunately, Cindy and Jerome enjoyed the rain as much as I did and made the best of our day. Luck was on our side since we only faced sporadic rain clouds. We started our engagement photo session at Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and concluded at Old Town Pasadena…in Pasadena (haha, get it?). Enough of my dry humor in such a wet weather, here are a few clips of Cindy and Jerome’s performance in the rain.

We tried to stay nice and toasty inside the concert hall before battling the rain. This was actually my first time inside the concert hall, which was quite refreshing. The architecture of the interior is definitely one of a kind.

After the rain clouds took a short breather, we ran outside and took as many pictures as we can before the next wave of clouds arrived!

We took a quick detour to Los Angeles Union Station before our final destination at Old Town Pasadena. I must say that the detour was worthwhile!

Oh, what fun will an engagement session be if we cannot break a few rules? Since the street was nice and clear, we got ourselves a clean shot in the middle of the street! This is definitely one for the records.

Since this engagement photo session took place during Halloween (yes, that means I procrastinate on my blog posts), we took a more “grim and artsy” photo. I hope we pulled that feeling off in the following picture.

Thank you Cindy and Jerome for being such a great sport despite the rainy day. Sitting home in the rain is just too dull and boring for me.

Ciao,

It was a sunny afternoon in Santa Monica when Beth and Nik introduced me to the best New York Style pizza in Los Angeles during our engagement photography session! Aside from the amazing food, we created so many amazing engagement pictures! Beth and Nik had no fear when we climbed scaffolds and ran to different allies just for the perfect photo!

Before I begin this entry, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, and a prosperous New Year. I hope everyone were able to spend time with their family and people they hold dear to. ^_^

My next destination took me to the beautiful beach of Santa Monica.  There is something really romantic about that place…I think it is the colorful ferris wheel on Santa Monica Pier.  You cannot tell a romantic story without a ferris wheel!  Since Beth and Nick are natives to this little city, there is something sentimental about having their engagement photos done there.  Since Beth bought Nick a motorcycle for their anniversary, they decided to add that into their collection of engagement pictures.  Strap your helmets on kiddos, this is going to be a fun ride!

Since Santa Monica was giving 3rd Street Promenade a face lift, there were a lot of construction during that time. Beth and Nick decided to be a bit adventurous and climbed up the scaffold to avoid the grime from below. I love couples as crazy as me! ^_^

I totally forgot what this pizza place was called, but the food was SO GOOOOD! The management of this establishment graced us with their kitchen to snap a few engagement pictures before we made our way to the pier.

…ahh yes, the ferris wheel. =)

We topped off our fun day by getting our feet wet at the beach.

Beth and Nick will be getting married this June at Wayfarer’s Chapel in Palos Verdes. Their wedding is going to be so fun!

Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles is a place to star gaze. What better location than to photograph these two stars, Ezina and Dax, for their engagement photo session! The engagement photography session started at Griffith Observatory that overlooked Los Angeles and concluded on the coastline of Malibu.

Ezina and Dax are an eccentric couple that sparked my interest ever since my phone conversation with them about setting an appointment for their wedding. Our personalities clicked perfectly from day one, which in turn made our engagement session sail quite smoothly. Of all the photo shoots I have done, I have not experienced one that relates to wings (you will see it in the following images). Ezina’s alias when she performs at concerts is Guitar Goddess. I guess that kind of explains why she wore a pair of amazing white wings during their engagement. Our first location was at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. The significance of this place is that Dax proposed to Ezina near one of the ledges of the observatory. Is that romantic or what?! Enough chit chat, I now present Ezina and Dax.

After the observatory, we made a quick drive over to Malibu to snap a few photos at the beach. Ezina changed to her red dress and strapped on her custom made guitar and serenaded Dax with a few tunes. ^_^

Thank you Ezina and Dax for the fun day around the city. Thank you Danny for your countless assistance. Ezina and Dax will be tying the knot early next year at Beverly Hills Hilton. I look forward to that wedding!

Happy holidays,

Sanda and Holger requested their engagement photography session with a vintage airplane theme. We started our engagement photo session at March Air Field in Riverside and produced such breathtaking engagement pictures. I think we pulled off this vintage engagement theme.

This adventure took me back to March Air Field Museum. Our engagement couple, Sandra and Holger, flew all the way from Germany!!! Holgar contacted me a few months ago that they were going to be in sunny California and would love the opportunity to have their engagement photos taken before their vacation ended. I was honored that of all the wedding photographers, they chose me to photograph their engagement session. These two particularly liked the engagement photo session I have done from my previous wedding couple, Arla and Chris, and would love to be photographed at the same location. They wanted their engagement to revolved around WWII era with the vintage fighter planes and outfits. Let me know if we pulled off that theme! Check it out.

Sandra and Holgar both needed their sunglasses on during most of the engagement session because it was scorching hot that day and the sun was beating on us! Even though we all had sunburns afterward, the photographs were all worth it. Thank you Sandra and Holgar for the fond memories!

Peace out,
