Summer is just around the corner here in Los Angeles and thing are heating up just nicely. I hope everyone has amazing plans and places to see for this coming season! For our next wedding, these two love birds have a heart for exploration and are always out and about planning for their next adventure. Allison and Jimmy have been joined to the hip for about a decade before they leaped into their next milestone adventure with a wedding to make things official.
St Regis Wedding Photography | Grace & Jon
April 17, 2014It was a bright winter afternoon in sunny California where it is almost summer all year round! Our next adventure took us to beautiful St. Regis Monarch in Dana Point where we photographed Grace and Jon’s amazing wedding! Every detail about this wedding was absolutely stunning. Everything was taken into consideration when this event was planned out from the floral arrangement, beautiful outfits, and my favorite part – the food! Grace and Jon hosted a very intimate wedding ceremony with all their beloved friends and family and partied the night away with style!

Make it Hot | Laura & Adrian
March 15, 2014Remember last year during the summer heat in Los Angeles? For those to do not, it was HOT! Laura and Adrian hosted their wedding during one of the weekends during this heat wave at beautiful Rancho Las Lomas. Despite the temperature, everybody laughed it off and had a blast while constant refreshments were delivered to keep everyone at the wedding cool.

Sing Your Heart Out | Aileen & Gregory
May 24, 2010It sure has been a while since I have posted my last adventure as a wedding photographer. I apologize for the delays, but I will make it up with some pretty pictures! As for my first post, this wedding took place during the end of December of last year. Yes, I have not blogged any weddings for that long. Of course my couples all received their wedding albums, so do not worry! I just prefer to take my time writing something thoughtful about each event. =)
It was a beautiful winter day when Aileen and Gregory finally tied the knot at Huntington Hyatt. Danny and I started our day with Aileen’s bridal preparations. During our stay in her suite, she provided everyone with music by singing at the top of her lungs. For those who have not read the blog about their engagement session, Aileen will sing lively chords whenever she is excited and happy. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you my singing bride and groom!

Brides always and should get extra perks for their weddings. In this case, Aileen got a classy Rolls Royce with a chauffeur. Poor Gregory had to drive himself. Who said that chivalry is dead? I beg to differ. ^_^
It is always a touching moment of the wedding ceremony when a mom escorts her daughter down the aisle.
Fortunately, the weather was to our favor, especially during the winter. Throughout the wedding ceremony, the sun and ocean provided a warm breeze for all the wedding guests.
…I still wonder what people do with that jar of sand after the wedding. =P
At last, the kiss that sealed the deal!
During cocktail hour, Aileen and Gregory let their guests mingle while we went off to take some portraits. As you can tell from the next photograph, they were faster runners than Danny and me.
Check out that wedding cake! This cake matched the theme and season perfectly. This beautiful cake was not only for aesthetics…it was so delicious! Gregory knew that I love wedding cakes, so he let me have the first choice of slices. The top tier was carrot cake, middle was red velvet, and the base was chocolate.
After the formalities were out of the way, Aileen threw on the red chucks to get the party started!
One group shot of everyone…
…and one awesome group shot of the vendors!
Thank you Aileen and Gregory for the wonderful memories. Aileen, sing to your heart’s content forever!
Cheers,

Put It Back On | Vivian & Ryan
July 7, 2009Howdy,
It has been a while since I have blogged any weddings and engagement sessions. I guess it is time to start cranking them all out! For starters, Vivian and Ryan finally tied the knot at The Club at Woodbury in Irvine. For those who do not know this couple, I photographed this spunky couple’s engagement session in Laguna Beach and Crystal Cove not too long ago. The best part about their wedding was that everything was walking distance! Vivian and Ryan’s house (where the wedding party prepared themselves) was a brisk 10 minute walk away from The Club. Since I did not feel like walking that day, I decided to drive. Enough sidetracking, I now present Vivian and Ryan’s wedding!
I had to be extra careful when I took this photo. I placed Vivian’s wedding shoes on a canvas that Ryan’s mother painted for them. =X
My favorite wedding detail of the day! Can you guess what that is?! Hint: It is not a necklace.
The words engraved inside Ryan’s wedding ring was hilarious!
The ladies showed off a bit of their moves before the wedding ceremony ^_^

Vivian’s father gave her one last kiss before he gave her away to Ryan.
I forgot the exact significance of that box, but it related to writing letters to each other every year. I thought that was a cute method of telling each other about their feelings.
Now that is how wedding kisses should be. With feeling!!!
After the ceremony, I took the wedding party aside to a local park to capture some really cool photos!
I did not want Ryan to be left out without a bouquet, so we picked a nice green one for him!
The band that Vivian and Ryan hired for their wedding did an outstanding performance. They dressed up as The Beatles from every era and sang all night.
Towards the end of the night, the wedding guests made two lines and lit sparklers for Vivian and Ryan’s grand exit!
What a fun bunch! Thank you Vivian and Ryan for all the fond memories from your wedding.
Cheers,
Doug
P.S. – Thank you Vivian and Ryan for the presents!
