Got a Light? | Private Lighting Workshop

June 2, 2009

Hello readers,

If you arrived on this post, then you have been invited to a private workshop hosted at Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel in Orange County (OC). I got an Ocean View Luxurious Suite for two nights and was entertained with the idea of hosting a lighting workshop.

Fortunately, Lan Bui, Vu Bui (The Bui Brothers) and Doug (Furious Photographers) were all free to help!
It’s going to be quite interesting to have four lighting experts with potentially separate opinions for “good lighting.”

I am not going to tell you how much I actually paid for the room for it will send another series of pangs to my heart/wallet, but it’s over $3,000.  We have a super nice location, so might as well make the most of it, right?  Workshop.

The styles are different [in a good way], but concepts and skillsets are solid.

Furious Photographers

Mimosas to Start the Wedding | Heather & Rory

October 23, 2008

Hello All,

Heather and Rory finally tied the knot! We photographed their engagement session a while back in San Juan Capistrano. It was an awesome day to photograph their wedding. The skies were blue, weather was perfect, and everyone was just having a good time. Heather started her day by getting ready at her sister’s house in Dana Point, while Rory entertained their guests with plenty of mimosa at the Chart House.

Before the grand entrance, we snagged the wedding party to the side and captured some cool moments.

The Chart House lends beautiful architecture inside for us to take pictures in every corner!

Heather and Rory’s day did not end at the Chart House. There were many more rounds of mimosas waiting for them at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel. They always pictured themselves photographed at the middle of the bar at the Ritz. To fulfill their wish, I had them literally pose in the middle of the bar with an entire audience.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I did taking them. Thank you Adrienne and Tang for being such great photographers! Heather and Rory were a blast!!!

Blue Cake | Brittney & Jeff

September 29, 2008

Howdy,

On Saturday, Steve Hoffmann and I photographed Britney and Jeff’s wedding! Being sweethearts since high school, the two of them finally tied the knot in Laguna Beach at Occasions.

Occasions at Laguna Village
577 S Coast Hwy
Laguna Beach, CA 92651

Occasions at Laguna Village (Orange County) is an awesome location that overlooks the ocean. I recommend it to any bride who wants a beach wedding 😀

While Steve handled Britney’s preparation session, I was with Jeff and the guys. They got ready at

Inn at Laguna Beach
11 North Coast Highway

Inn at Laguna Beach also overlooks the ocean, so it’s a totally rad place to hang out before the wedding. Jeff had a team meeting before his departure to marry the girl of his dreams! 1-2-3-HOORAH!

With some time to spare, the guys decided to horse around with Jeff’s nephew har har (I bet he was not laughing though).

Despite the beautiful wedding, we did not get any blue sky or sun! The fog rolled in thick and heavy.

YAY!

While trekking down the streets to the beach (above), I stopped them midway in an alleyway to take some more saucy pictures tee hee. I told them not to worry because we will get the “safety shots” for the parents and kids to see.

Here is the safety 0:- )

Britney and Jeff’s first dance as husband and wife. I had a large strobe setup on the right side lending that awesome light.
