It is those rare occasions that grade school friends turn sweet hearts and eventually become a sweet married couple. In this story, our dear friends, Lena and Garret, were one of those rare ones. Lena and Garret were friends since high school, each writing their own chapters, and some chapters were stranger than the other. Eventually one fine day, they decided to create a new chapter together and carried on writing their life stories as a pair ever since. When it came time to tie the knot, I obliged by starting off with their engagement photos in Downtown Los Angeles.
Lights | Katie & Pete
July 22, 2013Welcome back Katie & Pete into the mix! To keep everyone up to pace, Katie and Pete’s first engagement photography session took place in Downtown Los Angeles in their Rugby outfits and their lovely wedding took place over at Maya Hotel in Long Beach. To complete their photo collection, Danny and I took Katie and Pete over to LACMA (Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art) for a really…REALLY quick photo session. I think this engagement photography session took us about 10 minutes to wrap up. Enjoy!

Strum Me a Song | Lily & Steve
January 7, 2013Good evening everyone,
This year has definitely started off rather quickly. I have already gotten my first ticket from the cops and a week has not even ended! Anyway, I thought it was an interesting side note, so there goes my lunch money for the next month. One a brighter note, I finally got around to post up this next engagement photography session that was rather special to me. These two love birds, Lily and Steve, were hilarious from beginning to end. To start off, Steve was extremely nervous before the engagement photo shoot at our first location at Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), so Lily brought a portable speaker for music…and a bottle of vodka in her purse if he needed to loosen up. Danny and I told them that the engagement photo shoot will be easier than they imagined, so leave the partying until after the photo shoot is over. After 10 minutes of warm up practices, these two were total naturals in front of our camera from beginning to the end of our engagement photo session. We started off from Disney Concert Hall, to various locations in Downtown Los Angeles, and concluded at the pier in Santa Monica. During our photo session in Santa Monica, Steve took our a guitar and serenaded Lily with a few tunes. We fired off a few photos from the distance while they shared the moment together; gave me the warm and fuzzies inside. Below is a brief showcase of their fun-filled engagement photography session with us here in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Sit back and enjoy the show.

Lily and Steve hosted their amazing wedding up north near the Bay. From their wedding photos, it was such an intimate and amazing one. They are currently at the next stage and have a new bundle of joy!

Battle Scars | Katie & Pete
August 16, 2012Good afternoon everyone,
Two days left until the weekend. I hope everyone has plans especially the weather is cooling down a bit. As for Danny and me, we will be making a trip to Santa Barbara to photograph a wonderful wedding at Four Seasons! Make the most of your summer because it will be over before you know it!
One of more memorable weekends was during Katie and Pete’s engagement photo session here in Los Angeles. They were definitely one interesting pair and they both had a love for rugby! I had to admit during our photo shoot, Katie was one tough cookie especially when she tackled down Pete in one of their following engagement pictures below. In Pete’s defense, he let her take him down, but I am sure Katie can regulate when she needs to anyway. Throughout the engagement photo shoot, they shared stories of their battle wounds from their glorious victories in the sport. Rugby sounds like such an exciting game, but I personally think I am a bit too frail for this contact sport. One hit will send me flying off the field. We started off our engagement photo session in the outskirts of Downtown Los Angeles at a local state park with their rugby uniforms. The grass was nice an green during spring, so there were plenty of field of them to run about while we photographed them in their environment.
After we got enough grass stains from getting roughed up, Katie and Pete cleaned themselves quite nicely for their next engagement photo location at Los Angeles Union Station. During our photo shoot here, the security guards graced us with the Grand Concourse for a few photos before traffic started. Once we had our fill of photos here at LA Union Station, our engagement photo shoot was wrapped up with some cool parasols at Chinatown! The red lanterns and colorful architecture complimented their photos quite nicely. One one of their following engagement photos, a group of girls at Chinatown though they were some sort of celebrity, so they took out their cameras and started to take photos too. I thought adding that photo in this blog was rather fitting. =)

It was definitely a really fun day in the sun with these two. I will be posting up their second engagement photo session at LACMA with more formal wear soon!

Keepin’ it Vintage | Rosa B
June 14, 2012Good morning,
It has been a while since I have time to photography leisurely and without much pressure. During these times, I just like to photograph the most random things. In this case, my good friend Rosa was available one afternoon to goof around with some head shots in Pasadena. There is a gas station / taco restaurant that I always had an eye on for a photography set, but never paid too much mind to until now. The day started with Rosa getting her hair and makeup done by my former wedding couple, Nanae , who got married early last year at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. Since Nanae wanted to get more into makeup, this was a good start with some sweet photos of her work.
After all the preparations were made, we managed to catch the last glimpse of the sunset in our following photographs! Check it out.

Thanks Nanae and Rosa for this fun collaboration with this photo shoot here in Pasadena!
