It is always fun having a beach day, especially to photograph an engagement session in Santa Monica! Hanny and Monty flew in from Germany to visit their family. With the spare time, they spent the day with us for their engagement photography session in Santa Monica and 3rd St.
It was a perfect day in Santa Monica where the sun and everyone else enjoyed their day-off lounging about at the beach with their family and friends! Hanny and Monty, who were from Germany, also flew down to visit family and bask in the warm sun rays. This lovely couple originally met each other at a jazz club in Germany. Whether it was the ambiance, jazz music, or Hanny, or a little bit of everything; Monty could not take his eyes off her ever since that memorable night. Hanny and Monty approached me for a fun and stylish engagement photography session during their visit in Los Angeles before they returned to Germany to get married. Danny and I started off the engagement session at 3rd St. Promenade and made our way around Santa Monica jumping from one location to another. Check it out!
Thanks again, Hanny and Monty. Sorry again for calling you Martin the entire time. =D
Best,

I really like the images with the metal wall (I assume it’s metal?) in the background, the contrast between the hard coldness of the walls and the softness of the models and chair.
I totally dig them in that old school location (inside) — it just works so well with their outfits and all the rest. Great work, great light, great processing = great images. Keep up the great work.
The sun flare photo from the large glass was my favorite too ! they should frame it and put it in their house!
Very nice work! this rocks!!!
Amazing. The wardrobe choices really helps put everything together. It feels like a scene from the movie ‘L.A. Confidential’ Great Images!!!!
I’ve always wanted to take a red chair with me on location… this looks great!
Yeah – I love the location too…. old skool
Great images. I love you style.
Great series! First time I’ve seen a prop brought into the Disney Hall space. Nice touch.
Love the contrast of the metal walls and the red chair, very cool! Great work!
Love that venue, great stuff!
Hey Doug, the second (and third) shot at LA Union, very creative on the bounce! very very creative. good job!
Great images, especially like the one with the sunlight flaring through the window.
Beautiful series of images. You were definitely spot on about the back of the concert hall. The raw structural elements provided a great background. Nice work!
