Destination engagement photography session took us to the Big Apple with Linda and Nelson. We started our engagement photo session at Central Park (Manhattan) and concluded at Time Square!

Oh, how I love New York City! Although Linda and Nelson’s wedding will be hosted in sunny California, they currently reside in Manhattan, NY and would rather have their engagement photo session taken there. I have no objections to that decision! There is definitely a different ambience in New York compared to California, but both are just as beautiful in their own way. This spunky couple and I ran all over the city for the day from SOHO all the way up to Time Square, along with everything else in between!

SOHO – Manhattan, New York

SOHO offered so many beautiful photo opportunities. The colorful walls, columns, and the cobblestones were all there for us to use!

After we roamed around SOHO, we decided to find some greenery at Central Park. Luckily, there were not too many people at the park during our photo shoot.

Time Square – Manhattan, New York

Of course, in every shoot in New York, we had to take a few photos at Time Square!

I will be making another trip back to New York for two more engagement sessions towards the end of this month. Let me know if anyone wants to grab a cup of coffee and hang out!

It was a wonderful day when we spent the day to photograph Andrea and Troy’s engagement session at Palm Springs. Since Troy is a fighter pilot, their themed engagement photography session had vintage fighter planes! I think this location in Palm Springs was most fitting for this lovely couple.

Since my engagement session with Sandra & Holger , there have been quite a handful of couples who inquired for “themed” engagement photos. Out of all the themes, vintage fighter jets ranks as one of the most popular category; I do not blame them at all. For this engagement session, Troy flies a F-18 Super Hornet as a profession, so he was able to fit right in! Flying a fighter jet that can easily break the sound barrier and dodge bullets is a little too much for my stomach to handle. It is a crazy job, but I commend Troy for his patriotism.

Unfortunately, we did not have access to a F-18 Super Hornet for the photo shoot, but the Air Museum in Palm Springs was more than happy to welcome us to use their beautiful planes. The museum hosts a rare collection of planes dated back from WWl to now. Of all the planes, the blue Corsair and Stearman PT-17 were my favorite!

We were allowed to walk inside the B-17 Flying Fortress to see all the compartments where the fighters once sat and fought.

After we had our fill with fighter planes, we drove around Palms Springs to a very classy resort to conclude our engagement session.

I hope you all enjoyed Andrea and Troy’s engagement photos! Danny and I will be flying out to Lake Tahoe to photograph their wedding this weekend (July 3rd). I will keep you posted on our crazy destination weddings!

Over and out,

P.S. – For the boys who wonder where Troy got his outfit – Sorry boys, you have to be a U.S. fighter pilot to get one of those snazzy suits.

I spent my weekend vacation with my good friends Barbara and Aaron Dieppa in San Francisco! With their wedding just around the corner, I had the opportunity to photograph their engagement photo session around Downtown SF. It was a nice little treat to photograph in a different scene aside from Los Angeles and Orange County, especially with good company.

Hello!

I love San Francisco! This engagement photography session was extra special to us because Barbara and Aaron are not only photography colleagues, but really good friends. We also had two special guests come along with us to this engagement photo session. One is Gene Higa, one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world, and the other is Ann Hamilton, also another top ten wedding photographer in the world. They graced us with their presence and showed us around San Francisco! Even though this was supposed to be an engagement photo session, there were a few pictures of us all horsing around. C’mon, I flew to San Francisco to not only photograph an engagement session, but to relax! Anyway, enjoy our adventure!

Aaron tricked me during their engagement photo session. He told me if ten people turned those keys simultaneously, the building would move…I actually tried turning it. O_o

We integrated a couple ladders for the next engagement pictures. The results were pretty sweet!

I love putting my subjects in awkward positions! Anything to get the shot, right?

Now that’s some serious air!

I didn’t do it…but he did. Nice candid shot of Gene Higa. =)

“No autographs. We’re celebrities and all, but seriously please…”

Throughout the engagement session, we took a bunch of these goofy shots. Engagement pictures like these are priceless! You look a bit “tied” up there, Gene. Get it?…Nevermind. Be nice, Ann!

Furious Photographers…do not always need to look furious. =P

Now that is furious! During our trolley ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, we saw this photo session on top of someone’s roof! Does anyone have a spare roof for us to take pictures?

We made a pit stop at The Buena Vista. Their Irish Coffee was amazing!!!

Cheers! To the good times and to the bad times. Let these memories help us grow.

Barbara and Aaron were extremely wonderful throughout their engagement session! I barely even needed to instruct them. Thank you Gene and Ann for giving us an amazing tour around San Francisco and giving us some tips on photography. I cannot wait to visit San Francisco again!

Peace,
