Playing with Peacocks | Jennifer & Thanh

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Jennifer & Thanh finally tied the knot at Los Angeles Arboretum! It was a beautiful morning where Jennifer and Thanh kicked off their day with a tradtional Chinese wedding ceremony where they poured tea to respect their elders and ancestors. After the hustle and bustle in attempts to host their Chinese wedding on a specific time to gain the best luck (Chinese cultural beliefs of luck and timing), they relaxed and prepared themselves at San Gabriel Hilton before their next ceremony at the beautiful LA Arboretum.

Jennifer’s little sister needed her sleep. The tricky part was to sleep without messing up her hair before the wedding!

Glenn , one of my favorite grooms that hosted his wedding at Pasadena Westin also attended. As always, he knew how to party like no other.

Thanks again for the fond memories at both your Chinese wedding and the wedding at Arboretum. Too bad we were not able to catch a peacock in the photos with the wedding party.

Drive in Style | Helen & Danny

Friday, August 13th, 2010

In Chinese wedding traditions, the groom and his entourage are subjected to a series of grueling activities before receiving his bride to measure his love. One of the more amusing games in this wedding is that Helen wanted Danny to recieve her in an old red Mini Cooper that was seriously about to die on the side of the road. If the trip from Danny’s house to Helen’s was remotely close, it would have been a breeze. In Danny’s case, he lived in Rosemead while Helen lived west of Hollywood, which meant he had to drive uphill for about 20 miles! Luckily the car only gave him minor jolts along the way and he was able to arrive just in time.

After the Chinese wedding concluded, Helen and Danny made their trek in their Mini Cooper to Universal Hilton to officially tie the knot.

Making it Rain | Cindy & Jerome

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

It has been a while since Cindy and Jerome’s rainy engagement session at Downtown Los Angeles and Old Town Pasadena. This time our adventure took us to their hometown in Alhambra where they tied the knot at Almansor Park. Cindy and Jerome practiced their traditional Chinese ceremony early in the morning as a sign of respect to their elders and in return, ask for their blessings. Before Jerome could enter Cindy’s house, he was subjected to a series of “tests” that the bridesmaids made up. One of the tests, Jerome had to bribe the ladies to unlock the front door. Jerome made it rain through the door with nothing but one dollar bills; the ladies were not amused. Luckily, he still managed to squeeze himself in with just a few dollars! Check it out.

Liquid confidence at its best. With enough in your system, anyone can be a singer (just kidding).
