Horizon Hunters | Swimming Upstream

Life is short, so chase the horizon for your next adventure. A few years ago, Jason and I decided to do something completely out of our normal routine to mark the start of a different lifestyle. To start off in our adventure, we called it Horizon Hunters since we literally chased the horizon almost every day and night for a week and half. Our goal was to wake up every morning with a different scenery as we enjoy a hot cup of coffee before our day started. We accomplished that goal everyday before our last stop in Bishop where we met the rest of our crew. I must admit, this road trip offered an alternative perspective in life. Enough about the “deep in thought” malarkey, time for our adventure! Buckle up people, this is going to be a really long post.

Day 1
Dangled our feet over the edge of the Grand Canyon as we enjoyed our coffee before the hike

Day 2
Sat in the streams in Zion (with coffee of course) before we hiked up the trails

Day 3
Coffee before we were crazy enough to trek up the entire Narrows in Zion in freezing cold water! Chucks definitely held up during the our battle upstream, but maybe a different choice of shoes if we go back again

Day 4
Too hot to drink coffee as we almost ran out of gas in the middle of Death Valley. View was nice though.

Day 5
Our first shower of the trip in Las Vegas. Buffet was a nice treat compared to sausage and eggs cooked out of a camp stove the past few days.

Day 6
Coffee as we saw Bishop for the very first time and met the rest of our crew. We had no idea what we were about to face when we climbed those boulders.

Day 7 to the end
Got completely destroyed rock climbing, but ached for more. On the bright side, met new people and became amazing friends.
…continued to cook out of our camp stove with the leftover eggs and sausages.

With that brief summary of our trip, time for our photos! Enjoy.

Why did we think it was a good idea to dress like this on our hike through The Narrows?

Our choice of shoes. J snickered about my choice of colored shoes and fashion sense, or lack of…I do not blame him one bit.
