Japanese American Cultural Center Wedding | Tritia & Desmond

September 12, 2013

Being an Asiam American Studies major during my stay at UCLA long time ago, photographing weddings at Little Tokyo, especially at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center is a real treat. It was a sunny afternoon when Tritia and Desmond tied the knot here in J-Town (Downtown Los Angeles). While Tritia and her girls had a conference hall upstairs at JACC to get their makeup and hair done, Geoff and Wilson hung out with Desmond and his handsome boys. The best part about photographing the bridal party was that Tritia and her girls had plenty of snacks from Porto’s bakery! I had to refrain myself from eating too much and stayed focus on taking photos of the wedding. As for the boys, they all enjoyed a nice bottle of scotch to relax themselves before the big show!

After Tritia and Desmond were all prepped and ready to go, we ran around J-Town for their wedding portrait session. The decorations and ornaments hung around Japanese Village Plaza complimented their wedding photos perfectly! We ran around the streets afterward and took some wedding photos of just Tritia and Desmond from 1st Street to Far Bar located near their reception hall at JANM (Japanese American National Museum). Once their photo session was over, we had just enough time to take a short breather before Tritia took everyone’s breath away at the wedding ceremony as she walked down the aisle at JACC. There were fond moments here and there especially when they gave each of their parents flowers to thank each parent for raising them properly. Once the wedding ceremony concluded and sealed with a kiss, everyone took a short stroll down J-Town to JANM for cocktail hour.

The wedding party’s grand entrance was exceptionally impressive and finished off with Tritia and Desmond as they waltzed straight to their first dance. There were so much love and laughter as they greeted each wedding guest at their tables and thanked them for all their support. One of the best part of the reception had to be their dessert bar! They had a full ice cream sundae bar with so many delicious selections to choose from. After I clocked out and all their wedding photos were done, we could not help but grab a sundae to finish off the night! Enjoy.

Not bad of an outfit. The best man and Phebe wore matching penguin outfits during their grand entrance to surprise all the wedding guests.

After the wedding was all done and over with, we took Tritia and Desmond for one last little wedding photography session right outside JANM. Not too shabby to wrap up the night.
