Disney Concert Hall Wedding | Tammy & Patrick

My sweet couple, Tammy and Patrick, tied the knot! This quirky couple had a bit of a Halloween twist to their wedding since they got married the day before everyone went to trick-or-treat. To recap from their engagement session, Tammy and Patrick ran around Downtown Los Angeles with a more eerie theme in mind. To keep the theme going, they just spiced up their wedding with a splash of Halloween too. To kick start their day, Danny, Phebe, and I dropped by their cute pad in Echo Park during Tammy’s make up session with the gals. Once everyone was ready to rock, Tammy and Patrick had their first look over at Disney Concert Hall located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. We ran around up and down Disney Concert Hall for the following wedding photos. Their unique attire matched up quite nicely! Check it out.

After the wedding, everyone headed over to Japanese Gardens in J-Town to get their party on and enjoy the reception. Pretty cool wedding cake, huh?

JUMP! | Melody & Marvin

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope everyone’s summer is going along swimmingly and hopefully lots of swimming! Time to stow away your jackets and throw on something “California casual” for the summer. Los Angeles is definitely turning up the heat and sun will be blazing from here on out. The cool thing about summer weddings is that there will be more day light for photos! For our next wedding photography entry, it takes place in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at Cathedral of our Lady of Angels and Walt Disney Concert Hall. These two iconic buildings here in Los Angeles definitely made their wedding photos extra special and amazing. To start off their wedding story, everyone prepped up and dressed at beautiful Kyoto Hotel in Little Tokyo right outside of Downtown LA. Since both sides of the wedding party started off at Kyoto Hotel, Melody and Marvin had to dodge each other when they walked about the hotel. The challenging part of the wedding was when Melody’s beautiful wedding dress was hung in the middle of the lobby since we had to avoid Marvin from seeing it at all costs! There were a few close encounters, but I suppose these daring steps are part of the whole excitement in any wedding. Once the entire wedding party suited and dressed up, we made our way to Walt Disney Concert Hall for their wedding photography session. Enjoy!

After the touching wedding ceremony, everyone from the wedding paraded out the ceremony hall and congratulated the newly weds outside the courtyard while their reception finalized the final touches. The rest of their wedding after the grand entrance followed with lots of speeches, hugs, and insane dance moves throughout the night!

Congratulations to the both of you, Melody and Marvin! We had such a great time and was an honor to be your wedding photographers here in Los Angeles.

Strum Me a Song | Lily & Steve

Good evening everyone,

This year has definitely started off rather quickly. I have already gotten my first ticket from the cops and a week has not even ended! Anyway, I thought it was an interesting side note, so there goes my lunch money for the next month. One a brighter note, I finally got around to post up this next engagement photography session that was rather special to me. These two love birds, Lily and Steve, were hilarious from beginning to end. To start off, Steve was extremely nervous before the engagement photo shoot at our first location at Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), so Lily brought a portable speaker for music…and a bottle of vodka in her purse if he needed to loosen up. Danny and I told them that the engagement photo shoot will be easier than they imagined, so leave the partying until after the photo shoot is over. After 10 minutes of warm up practices, these two were total naturals in front of our camera from beginning to the end of our engagement photo session. We started off from Disney Concert Hall, to various locations in Downtown Los Angeles, and concluded at the pier in Santa Monica. During our photo session in Santa Monica, Steve took our a guitar and serenaded Lily with a few tunes. We fired off a few photos from the distance while they shared the moment together; gave me the warm and fuzzies inside. Lily and Steve hosted their amazing wedding up north near the Bay. From their wedding photos, it was such an intimate and amazing one. They are currently at the next stage and have a new bundle of joy!

Fun in the Sun | Heidi & William

Good morning, Los Angeles! I love it when the seasons transits from one to another, especially winter to spring. The weather is perfect and I do not have to keep my air conditioner on to keep my computer cold…saves in so much electrical bill.

My next wedding entry took place in Ventura Pier and Downtown Los Angeles. Heidi and William got married shortly after this “day after” wedding photography session. Since they got married off in Ventura Pier, it is only suitable to start our photo session there. It was a cool, sunny day when Danny and I started this photo shoot. Heidi and William both dressed in their best and looked rather stylish for their photo shoot. Heidi showed up in her stylish wedding gown and William looked rather sharp in his suit. After we wrapped up our photo shoot on the pier, we cruised down the beach for a different scenery. What was different about photographing this wedding shoot on the beach was that there was a neat little refreshment stand right in the middle of the beach! It was a small yellow trailer that sold lemonade and various other refreshments…rather ironic with a big yellow stand selling lemonade! Either way, the owner let us run around her shop to take some fun photos.

Once our beach photo session was over, we all headed to Downtown Los Angeles to Disney Concert Hall and Grand St to wrap up some photos at night. Since we were in LA after sunset, Danny and I popped specific strobes to concentrate on Heidi and William more to isolate them from the back for a more dramatic effect. Check it out!

Anyone care for lemonade? This was such a smart idea to have a refreshment stand in the middle of the beach. There were countless times were I get thirsty after playing in the sun and not having a drink.

With a few key lighting, we pulled this next photograph off! It took three lights to get this picture calibrated properly. Overall, this wedding picture was worth the effort!

LA Times Engagement Photos | Nita & Manu

Ahoy there!

Nita and Manu’s engagement photography session in Los Angeles was a rather unique one! Since Manu is employed by Los Angeles Times, we gained access to photograph their stylish engagement shoot in the actual building without any interruptions. Throughout the photo shoot, Manu gave Danny and me a tour around the building and its rich history. The top floor of Los Angeles Times building was untouched since the 60s which had a very vintage feel towards everything. Or course we had to make the most out of this top floor and photograph to our heart’s content.

After we all had our fill at LA Times Building, we headed to Disney Concert Hall and Santa Monica to wrap up our engagement photography session for some colors. We walked and played in the water until sunset and concluded our photo shoot.
