Hi hi,

On May 25, 2008, I photographed a wedding at Occasions at Laguna Village in Laguna Beach (Orange County) with Steve Hoffmann. The lovely couple - Dorothy and Yuichi - started their day at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. Afterwards, we trekked down to Occasions at at Laguna Village where they had both their wedding ceremony and wedding reception, which was awesome because it meant less traveling.

The hair and make-up was done by All Made Up lead by Vivian Tran.

Occasions at Laguna Village hosted a buffet style dinner for the guests. That evening’s dinner was baked salmon with asparagus, tortellini in a rich cheesy sauce, and spinach salad with poppyseed dressing. This delectable ambrosia was so good!

This lucky cake had the view of the ocean the entire time!

I photographed an intimate wedding with Gavin Holt at Yamashiro Restaurant in Hollywood, CA on May 24, 2008.

Gavin and I have been friends for a while, but never had the opportunity to photograph together. Working with this guy was super chill.

In any event, the stars for the evening were Rachel and Ken. Both of them are from the Bay Area and found Yamashiro Restaurant to be the ideal place for them to have their wedding. Check out some of the pictures!

These party favors were so cute! I love favors that I can eat CHOMP!

This is an image of Ken getting make-up sprayed onto his face. The coating was so light that I would not have even known had I seen it applied.

This was during Rachael and Ken’s ceremony at Yamashiro’s courtyard. It is a beautiful garden in the center of the restaurant with a pond full of colorful koi. The following image was taken with a remote camera that I hid behind some bushes.

I forgot to mention - Ken was trained in the Shaolin Temple. The opportunity begged me to do a “Furious Five” pose like Kung Fu Panda.

I was so fortunate to sit in a table with only one other individual who eats sushi - Gavin. The rest of the guests did not even try it. More for us! Haha so delicious!

Just look at that view of Los Angeles at dusk! After the evening festivities died down, I took a respite and was in awe when gazing out at the metropolis.

Howdy,

Our first wedding post on this new blog! Yay! We have a few more wedding posts coming up at Occasions at Laguna Village, so hang tight. The wedding season is picking up, so you will see a lot more weddings very soon.

Greg, Doug and I headed to Simi Valley last week on a beautiful Saturday morning to The Center for Energetic Healing. The 3-acre resort promotes alternative healing techniques and spiritual rejuvenation. Our wedding couple - Christi and Craig - had an intimate wedding with only close friends and relatives. We were introduced to Christi through a mutual friend - Grace - whom Doug met at UCLA.

Vince: It’s your lemons!  Whatever my baby wants, my baby gets.

Jennifer: Well, this baby wanted 12 lemons, not four.

We originally had 12 lemons, but the coordinator accidentally gave the lemons to the bar to use for drinks, so we only had three left.

Hi,

We had the opportunity to photograph two lovely girls (and their dates) last year for prom. Since one of the girls, Helen, is my friend’s cousin, I gladly helped them take pictures. Since they liked the pictures so much, Helen’s friend’s younger brother, Raymond, asked us to do the same for him and his date.

Raymond and Alice are two spunky Arcadia High School kids who did not really like the regular prom poses, so they asked us to take some cooler pictures that will make their friends go “WOW!” After Raymond was given the negatives, he shared some wallet-sized pictures with his classmates and blew their minds away.

The first two are my favorites! And those two were the ones that Raymond and Alice printed to share with their friends.

Greetings,

We recently photographed a quirky couple - Jacey and Mitch - in Malibu. Mitch’s dad was a life guard and has an awesome home on Pacific Coast Highway that overlooks the ocean. What is even more awesome is that their neighbor is Edward Norton!!! How cool is that?

Since the sun was rather harsh during the afternoon, we headed over to Neptune’s Net. I was hoping that it would be a nice place to photograph because it was used in a lot of movies and commercials, but that place was so packed with bikers that we could not make use of the atmosphere.
