Monday, June 30th, 2008

Hello everyone,

The Furious Photographers will be in Cancun, Mexico for a number of days, but will return on July 5th! Therefore, please allow us some time before returning your emails.

By the way, we took an awesome wedding today! It was at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa (Orange County). We took loads of pictures, but the following will be a teaser ;D

I wish I had time to post the images we played as a slideshow during the reception, but figured I am possibly too tired to write anything at this hour.

Enjoying colorful drinks,

Summit House in Fullerton | Jennifer & Jack

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Howdy ho,

While Lawrence and Julie were photographing a totally rad quinceanera in El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach, Tang (our newest addition into the Furious Photographers) helped me photograph a fabulous wedding in Fullerton at Summit House Restaurant. Jennifer and Jack are two very funny people whom I had the pleasure of working with. Their Disney Concert Hall engagement pictures can be found at a previous post.

Summit House Restaurant
2000 E. Bastanchury Road
Fullerton, CA 92835

Wedding Information
Telephone – (714) 671 3092
Facsimile – (714) 255 0485

The location is absolutely gorgeous for a remote little venue. I almost did not find it. My GPS directed me into some bushes, which I thought was silly. It was not until after a short while did I find the discreet entrance to Summit House Restaurant.

Jennifer’s super cool rings!

That’s the beautiful bride – Jennifer – with her thumbs up and ready to rock and roll!

This is one of my favorite pictures for this wedding. As Jennifer lifted up her dress, I saw a golden opportunity and seized it.

Their ceremony took place in the courtyard at Summit House Restaurant in Fullerton.

Since we had some time, we did some individual portraits. This was shot in front of the kitchen ;D

I absolutely love the following image. Lawrence did the edits for it. He is really good with texture and controlled blurs. :)

Since we had our laptop out that played a slideshow of the images taken during that day, everyone found the following one a winner. Whenever the image of Jack passed by, the viewers cried with laughter! Jack is one heck of a handsome and funny guy.

After the cake cutting, Jack stayed behind to continue eating more cake by himself! HAHAHA!

When it was time to remove the garter from Jennifer’s leg, Jack pulled with all his might letting nothing stand in his way from his prize.

Oh what a fun fun fun wedding! Tang and I had such a blast working with this funny couple!

Kimberly’s Quinceanera!

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Greetings,

A quinceanera is, in Spanish speaking regions, the celebration of a woman’s fifteenth birthday! It is a beautiful transition into womanhood. The birthday girl undergoes a formal ceremony followed by an elaborate celebration with her family and friends. I had the honor of photographing Kimberly’s quinceanera at El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach (Los Angeles).

Kimberly is a sweet girl who has a colorful personality, which can be seen by the colors in her room.

Since the girls wanted to have some fun pictures, I asked them to pose as if they were on “America’s Next Top Model” or like the “Sex and the City” girls. We picked a shady place in El Dorado Regional Park (Long Beach) and they just added their own sass and flair with little facilitation from me.

Kimberly and her friends “got down” the rest of the evening…literally.

These kids were amazing dancers! It makes me jealous of their dexterous forms. And look in the back! Julie – my awesome assistant – was there to help me photograph this quinceanera since Doug had another wedding to attend to at Summit House in Fullerton.

What a birthday party! I never had any birthday parties this elaborate. Mine usually ends up at BJ’s or Yardhouse where their selection of brews is mind blowing.

Japanese Friendship Garden Wedding | Rebecca & Keiji

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Hello peeps,

We recently photographed a wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego. Despite the summer heat, we managed to whip out some wicked images. Check it!

Since I like sushi [and cats], I thought this would make an awesome ring shot!

This one is my favorite because of the cool lighting. I had the subjects stand under a light that was beaming from a high window, which blackened everything else in the background.

Stay posted because we have like five more weddings to post! It is just that we have been so busy, time just has not allowed us to keep up with the blog.

Palm Springs Wedding | Kim & Eric

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Howdy,

I know that I am posting in backwards order, but I blame the Southern California heat. It is making me delirious. On May 3, 2008, Julie, Doug and I photographed an awesome wedding in Palm Springs at Smoke Tree Ranch

1850 Smoke Tree Lane
Palm Springs, CA 92264-1602
Phone: 800-787-3922
Fax: 760-327-9490
E-Mail: reservations@smoketreeranch.com

The fabulous couple – Kim and Eric – hosted an entire weekend of fun events for their friends and family members at this Palm Springs resort. On the day of their wedding, they began their morning with some yoga. This was followed by swimming and poolside bar service. To make the heat more bearable, Kim and Eric invited an old fashion ice cream truck to offer us unlimited ice cream! Obviously, I took advantage of this opportunity :)

While everyone were enjoying themselves, Kim retreated away to do her wedding preparations. The following image is a cool watch that Kim had since she was a little girl – a Casio Illuminator – and never replaced.

When the hair stylist was away, we played with the fake hair haha

Kim and Eric had a traditional Jewish wedding later in the afternoon.

Kim wanted an extra hot picture of herself. ;D

While Doug took care of Kim, I photographed Eric and the boys. As the sun was setting, I rushed all of the guys outside from their air conditioned rooms to take this bitchin’ picture. I wanted to make it look like an album cover for a rock band! HEHE! It was not easy to achieve though because I had to give just the right amount of fill light and I had to keep changing my settings because of the changing light intensity from the setting sun.

palm springs wedding photography

Following all of the portraits and all, it was time to party!

palm springs wedding photography

Look at the cool chandeliers hanging off of trees! I know that it is not the best angle, but I wanted to give you a clear idea.

palm springs wedding photography

The cupcakes looked almost too good to eat.

There were also loads of Polaroid cameras so that guests could take pictures of themselves for the guest book.

palm springs wedding photography

This guy had a fabulous t-shirt for the wedding reception – meow!

palm springs wedding photography

Light painting + wedding photography again! It did not turn out as well as Sharon and Derek’s light painting because we were short on time and they were really drunk haha!

palm springs wedding photography

Overall, it was a blast to photograph this wedding. Special thanks to Center of Attention lead by Michele Fox Gott for hosting a beautiful wedding.

Stay out of the heat,

Lawrence – Contact Me!
